The Megaphonic Thrift

Their inspirations: Sonic Youth, Built to Spill, Dinosaur Jr., Guided by Voices and My Bloody Valentine. Made up of Richard Myklebust (Stereo 21 and Young Dreams), Linn Frokedal and Njal Clementsen (both from Low Frequency in Stereo) and Fredrik Vogsborg (Casiokids and Young Dreams), it offers us catchy melodies immersed in an ocean of noisy guitars, for a shoegaze with pop notes.

In 2010, they arrived on the international scene with their first EP A Thousand Years of Construction.
They then travelled across Europe and North America, with A Place to Bury Strangers and The Depreciation Guild, among others.
Hailed for their powerful stage presence, they convinced audiences at rising festivals such as EuroSonic, Popkomm, the Berlin Festival and the Reeperbahn.

The group releases its songs in good old MP3 format which is available for purchase on a well-known website.Their debut album “Decay Decoy”, released in 2011, has taken them up a notch: they open for Band of Horses and Dinosaur Jr. and Jay-Z presents them in his magazine “Life and times”. Then on tour in Europe and North America, they composed their second (eponymous) album, which will be released in February 2012.
Their first single, “Tune your mind”, has conquered a large audience, and consolidated their relationship with their early fans.
